Frequently Asked Questions

I need help right now. What should I do?

If someone may be overdosing, call 911 right away and give naloxone (Narcan) if you have it. If you are in emotional crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988, any time. When you are safe, find a meeting. We will be here.

Does it cost anything to attend?

No. Fentanyl Anonymous meetings are free. There are no sign-ups and no cost to attend.

Is Fentanyl Anonymous a treatment program?

No. Fentanyl Anonymous is a free, peer-led recovery fellowship. We do not provide medical care, clinical services, or licensed addiction treatment, and we are not a detox or rehab facility.

Do I have to talk at a meeting?

No. You can simply show up and listen, or share if you choose.

Is it only for fentanyl?

No. Fentanyl Anonymous is for anyone struggling with any substance — fentanyl, pills, heroin, stimulants, alcohol, or anything else. You are welcome here.

Why is it called Fentanyl Anonymous?

Because fentanyl has changed the landscape of addiction. It is now found throughout the street drug supply — in counterfeit pills, heroin, cocaine, and meth — often without people knowing. Whatever you use, fentanyl may be part of the risk. That’s why our fellowship is open to everyone, whatever the substance.

Can I attend online?

Yes. Some groups offer an online option. Use the meeting finder and choose “Online / Hybrid.”

Is my information kept private?

Yes. You never need to give personal information to attend a meeting or use this site. Anything you send through our forms or store is seen only by the FA team and the services that help us run them, and we never sell it. Meeting listings show a host’s first name and last initial only. Read our Privacy Policy.

How do I start a meeting in my area?

Fill out the Start a Meeting request form. The FA team will review your request and contact you about next steps. A Meeting Start-up Kit is also available in the shop.
